
The local branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has a new leader. Carroll Widenhouse of Otto was set apart by President Wally Booth, of the Asheville Stake, as the president of the Franklin Branch. Helping Widenhouse will be his counselors, Ken Anderson, and Eric Burch.
The Branch serves all of Macon County and part of Jackson County. Sunday meetings are held at 33 Pine Ridge Road just off Highway 28 North. Sacrament Meeting starts at 10 a.m., Sunday School at 11:20 a.m. and Priesthood and Relief Society meetings begin at 12:10 p.m. Visitors are invited to attend any or all Sunday meetings. The Branch also has a well-equipped genealogy/family history center that is available to the public.
